No prior sailing experience
is necessary. A Coast Guard licensed captain on
each boat guides your guests through the basics
of sailing during a leisurely practice session
on the bay before the flags are hoisted and starting
gun is fired to start the race. With many identical
boats this race is always a closely fought event.
Guests may participate in sailing their boats
as they bond with other team members to vie for
the winner’s prize. Of course there are
always those who just enjoy watching and relaxing
in the background, happy to sit back with drink
in hand and cheer their crew on.
After the race there is typically
another hour left to sail at leisure and take
in the sights and sounds of San Diego Bay or Long
Beach Harbor, and the city skyline before returning
to the club for after race celebrations.
